Whether you use Azure at work, want to try it for the first time, or are looking for people in the Hiroshima area to talk tech with, you’re more than welcome. We hope to see you there.
Why Azure Travelers travels
Azure Travelers began with a simple idea: visit different parts of Japan and host fun community events together with the people who live and work there.
Tech events can be attended online, but there’s something special about talking face to face with people who work in the same region or are active in nearby communities. The connections come not only from what we learn in the sessions, but also from conversations like, “What kinds of jobs and technology topics are people talking about here?” and “Where should we get together next?”
That’s why Azure Travelers values in-person communication. We plan to stream part of the opening, but the best way to experience the atmosphere and conversations of the day is to join us at the venue.
Our journey so far
The journey began in Sapporo in 2024 and continued through Kobe, Yamagata, Fukuoka, Okinawa, Ehime, Tokyo, Sendai, and Kanazawa. Hiroshima will be our 10th destination.

We’d love for people who are just discovering Azure Travelers to join us in Hiroshima. If you usually take part in another tech community, or you’re interested in Azure but have never attended a study session, please feel free to stop by.
What we’re planning for the Hiroshima trip
The day will include community introductions, a panel discussion, sessions on Azure and data use, lightning talks, snack time, and our traditional Azure quiz. There will also be a social gathering after the study session.
The event page includes information about in-person lightning talk slots and some online participation slots. Availability and the schedule may change, so be sure to check the connpass event page for the latest information.
Only some sessions will be streamed online. Discussions at the venue and conversations over snacks and souvenirs that attendees bring are also part of what makes Azure Travelers fun. Getting recommendations from local participants is another experience unique to an event that travels from place to place.
Next stop: Wakayama. We’re looking for a venue
We’re planning to visit Wakayama after Hiroshima. However, we don’t have a venue yet, so the date is still to be determined.
Azure Travelers depends on the support of local communities and companies that know each destination well. In Wakayama and other future destinations, we’re looking for sponsors who can provide a venue free of charge.
If you can provide a venue, we’ll set aside time during the event for you to make an announcement. If any of the following sound like something you can help with, please contact the organizers through the Japan Azure Travelers connpass page.
- You can provide a meeting room or event space free of charge
- You’d like to plan an event together with a local tech community
- You’d like to create a place for people involved with Azure at your company or in your region to connect
We also welcome messages saying, “Come to my city!” Helping us find a venue or connecting us with a local community brings the next trip one step closer.
See you in Hiroshima
Azure Travelers isn’t an event where Azure enthusiasts from around the country simply arrive and leave. It’s a community where we talk about technology with local participants, discover what makes each region special, and create time together that leads to future connections.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in Hiroshima on August 1.
